Prince is coming to Baltimore, MD to keep the peace.
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Prince announced he is having a “Rally for Peace” concert on Mothers Day this Sunday at the Royal Farms Arena to support Freddie Gray, who died in police custody.
He’s expected to play his new unreleased song called “Baltimore,” which he wrote for the conflicted city. To show appreciation and support to the city he asks everyone who’s coming to concert to wear gray to symbolize Freddie Gray.
“I think it’s for publicity,” says Dwayne, a student at Morgan State University. Some people seem to believe it’s all about the money and fame for Prince.
But not everyone thinks it’s for publicity. “Prince is the man, when his name is brung up everyone knows who you’re talking about,” said Eddie Musa. There are mixed feelings about Prince’s concert but its expected to be a great turn out.
Prince is one of many celebrities who came out to support Baltimore. He will be joined by his back up group, the funk band, 3rdEyeGirl. Tickets have been on sale since Wednesday, May 6th.
